Easterseals-Goodwill works with partners in the community to provide additional training such as updating computer skills, literacy skills, and improving English proficiency. While working, SCSEP participants also can get help updating resumes, practicing interview skills, and searching for jobs. Assignments vary and range from six to 12 months. The goal is to provide current hands-on job training that can lead to unsubsidized employment in the private sector. Participants get paid job training at host agencies for about 20 hours per week. While in this program, participants overcome barriers to employment while gaining paid, real-world work experience at non-profits and government agencies, called “host agencies,” in the community.
